Blackness Bay Distillery is a small, traditional Scottish distillery which produces a delightful selection of whiskeys and rums.
Located on the shores of the Firth of Forth, we are housed within the oldest building in Blackness – made famous by the world renowned Outlander series.

In keeping with centuries of tradition, our whisky and rum are distilled using the same process as our ancestors.
We use natural, locally sourced malted barley. and sugar cane molasses which are pot stilled in twin copper vessels.
The resulting spirit is matured in oak barrels, with each barrel imparting its own unique flavour on the whisky or rum inside.

Our products
Blackness Bay is a licensed Bonder, Distiller, Blender Rectifier and Wholesaler. We are constantly innovating to develop a range of ever changing spirits and liqueurs that ignite your senses
Blackness Bay Rum
Our original rum is full of our unique, local flavour, it is surprisingly soft and works well with the classic mixers like cola and ginger beer.
It also works as a great base for a hearty cocktail.
Blackness Bay Jacobite Spiced Rum
If rum is ‘your drink’ then we know you will love our spiced edition.
This rum has a wonderful rich, lingering taste, reminiscent of times when rum was the standard fare or the sailors coming in and out of the port at Blackness (the Jacobites had an equal appreciation of the beverage!)
Created using the traditional Dunder method, spices include Cassia, Orange, Lemon and Cardamom.
Flower of Scotland Pink Rum

Thistle flowers, heather buds and dried rose petals – three flowers that strike pride in the heart of every Scot, making them the perfect flavouring for our Flower of Scotland Pink Rum.
Many of the rose petals are picked right from the Distillery’s garden giving this fragrant, mellow rum a unique local flavour.

We believe the best whiskies take your mind on a journey to their place of origin.
Our Whisky Blend has been carefully selected, using whiskeys from both the Scottish Lowlands and the Highlands, to perfectly capture the essence of Blackness Bay.
New Make Spirit
Great things require patience. As with any Scottish Distillery, we have periods where we are waiting for our Whisky to mature to the statutory three years and a day.
Fortunately, we can still produce a delightful, youthful New Make Spirit which is gaining in popularity in the distilling world.
The Blackness Bay New Make Spirit is characterised by a magical earthiness and a rich depth of flavour often associated with Irish Poteen.
Blackness Rum Liquors
This smooth liquor is created using an ancient, secret recipe with herbs, spices and honey to create a mellow amber drink with a satisfyingly rich flavour.
This is the perfect after dinner drink or serves as a sweet and sumptuous nightcap.
